Hello, fellow crafters!! Brenda here, sending you happy thoughts with this bold, colorful, slimline card!!
I began by gold heat embossing the Magnificent Blooms and Meraki stamp sets onto bristol smooth cardstock. I colored the images with Karin Brushmarker Pro Markers and fussy cut them out. Be very gentle when fussy cutting against the embossed line...I did have a couple of areas where the embossing flaked off and I just fixed it with a gold metallic pen. (Shhhh...don't tell anyone...ha!)
For the background, I die-cut the Bar None Slimline Die from black cardstock and layered it over another slimline panel of black cardstock. (It's really hard to see in the photos, but it adds great tone-on-tone texture to the background.) I adhered the blooms and butterfly as shown and trimmed the excess from the edges. The sentiment, from Magnificent Blooms, was stamped onto white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink, trimmed and popped up with foam adhesive.
At this point, I felt as if something was missing, so I covered the images the best that I could and splattered on some diluted gold metallic ink with a paintbrush. That was the perfect finishing touch!!
I am IN LOVE with how this turned out!! It's so nice when something turns out even better than you pictured it in your head!!
Thanks for dropping by today!! Have a great weekend and I'll see you next Thursday!!
