Hello! It's Andrea back to share a birthday, pop-up card featuring dies from Crafty Meraki.
Talk about a party on a card, right?! I paired the cake from the Festive Delight Dies with the Magic Maker Pop Up Dies to create this fun card.
I began by diecutting the elements from colored cardstocks with the Festive Delight Dies. I heat-embossed the pink frosting pieces with WOW! Bubblicious Embossing Glitter and blended the sides of the blue cake layers with coordinating ink to create a little dimension. I colored the candles with Copics and added stripes with a white gel pen. I assembled the cake with liquid adhesive.
To create the cardbase, I diecut white cardstock with the Magic Maker Pop Up Dies. For the colored sections, I first ink-blended white cardstock with the following shades of Catherine Pooler ink: Sparkling Berry, Serenade and Cummerbund. I added splatters of water, white paint, and diluted ink for interest. Once the cardstock was dry, I diecut it with the scalloped dies from the Magic Maker Pop Up Dies. After gluing the scalloped diecuts to the white diecuts, I assembled the cardbase with double-sided adhesive. I adhered the cake to the middle section of the cardbase, attaching a strip of white cardstock to the back for stability.
For the balloons I diecut more of the colored cardstocks used on the cake with the Party Balloons Die. I applied the same Catherine Pooler inks to create dimension and attached the balloons to the back panel of the cardbase with thin 3D foam squares. I diecut bows with a die from my stash and glued them to the balloons.
My sentiment was created with the Celebrate Dies. For the pink letters, I first heat-embossed white cardstock with the same Bubblicious Embossing Glitter used on the frosting and then diecut it with the Celebrate Dies. I diecut the shadow layer from white cardstock. I glued the letters to the shadow and attached the diecut to the front section with foam. I finished the card with a scattering of clear confetti.
