Gorgeous Poppies + Karin Markers with Natasha!

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a great start to your week! Today is my first post as a Design Team member for Crafty Meraki. I am so excited to join Crafty Meraki and this amazing group of designers! Thank you so much to Hima and the AMAZING team for welcoming me!

Today I am sharing the beautiful Paint -a Flower Poppy set by Altenew. I love this set and couldn't wait to create a slim line card with this floral.

I started by stamping the poppy floral image using WOW embossing ink and Gilded Gold Embossing powder from Brutus Monroe on Bristol Smooth card stock. I stamped the image 3 times using the same process. I created a mask for the image and used this to layer the floral image to create a trio of florals on the slim line card base. Once it was stamped, I was ready to color. Today I am using the Karin Brushmarker Pro Mega Box - 60. I have listed the colors I used for the project below:

• Floral: Red 209, Lipstick Red 181, Burgundy 075
• Leaves: Apple 210, Lush Green 228, Sapphire Blue 189, Canary Yellow 166
• Background: Cyan 207, Royal Blue 045

I am loving these markers and how easy they blend together. When working with my markers I do one layer at a time, beginning with the lightest layer and I work my way to the darkest layer. I make sure it is dry before adding another layer of color. Once my floral images were dry, I started to work on the background of my card. I wanted to make the flowers pop even more, so I added a watercolor background using the 2 shades of blue listed above. I added a shadow area in some sections of the floral as well.

Once the background was dry, I masked my floral images one more time. I added some metallic blue watercolor splatters for added interest. I stamped the sentiment Happy Birthday from the set in black ink. I added a few clear sequins for added interest and sparkle as well!
