I hope you have a great Saturday ahead of you. I have another Christmas inspiration for you today, in which I used novelties from the release Crafty Meraki. As I promised earlier, I'm trying to show a slightly different, softer side of Christmas. That's why today's inspiration is also mainly based on soft, pastel bright colors.
To start with, I prepared a card base. I reached for white paper to keep the whole thing just in light tones. Then I prepared a rectangle cut from the same paper as the base of the card, but I made it a little smaller so that the base could be seen underneath.
And now it's time for one of the interesting processes when making this card. Namely, I prepared an "Under the Mistletoe" stamp and applied hot embossing ink to it. Then I followed it on the prepared piece of paper and covered it with transparent embossing powder. In this way, after heating the powder, I obtained beautifully shiny frosted designs on a white piece of paper. Such an effect would also work perfectly for winter and Christmas inspiration. However, my idea was a bit different. I chose several colors of Oxide inks and made shading in mint and turquoise tones, and then wiped the entire background with a dry cloth, so that the patterns prepared by transparent embossing remained white and created a fantastic pattern. This method can be used in many ways, including on colored paper.
The next step was to prepare the aged edges of the background using scissors. In my opinion, this gives a very interesting effect, which does not require the use of punches and is easy and quick to prepare.
Then, to lighten the background a bit more, I added parchment paper over it, which makes the background visible, but looks like it is behind a fine mist. This will allow the stamps, which will be prepared in a moment, to stand out better.
I decided to reach again for the wonderful "Festive Frolic" stamp set. It is definitely my favorite among the sets from the new release. Therefore, you will certainly see it more than once on my inspirations. This time I turned the Christmas tree into a frosty iced tree, which blended in perfectly with the whole coposition. I also chose two characters to dress the Christmas tree. Using this set you can create amazing Christmas scenes.
The lettering I used is from the "Gilded Holiday Greetings" set, while the stars on top can be found in the "Jingle Jewels" set.
In addition, I still wanted to draw your attention to the gorgeous crystals that decorated my card.
