Clean and Simple Birthday Card by Irene

Clean and Simple Birthday Card by Irene

Happy Friday, friends! Irene here with a clean and simple birthday card. Today, we'll use the Be Your Own Kind of Cupcake stamp set and polychromos colored pencils for this project. Let's get started!

First, I stamped 'Birthday Wishes' and a cupcake onto Kraft cardstock using a medium gray ink. Then, I added a light layer of white color throughout the stamped image using the #101 white pencil.

For the cupcake cup, I used #249 (Mauve) for the lower to mid portion and #136 (Purple Violet) to blend using an upward motion. Next, I colored the icing with #102 (Cream). For the cherries, I used #142 (Madder) and #217 (Middle cadmium red) for the outer edges. I made sure to blend the edges with #142. For the hearts, I used #129 for the entire heart and #124 (Rose Carmine) for the edges, and I blended them with #129.

For the leaves, I used #168 (Earth Green Yellowish). I used a heavier hand where the shadows are and a lighter hand along with #184 (Dark Naples Roche)very lightly on the lighter areas.

Next, I blended using the lighter colors used in all areas and a white pencil for highlighted areas. Lastly, I used a white gel pen to add additional highlights.

Thanks for reading along! Have a fabulous weekend!
