Birthday Balloons stencil

A foiled Birthday

A foiled Birthday

Hey Crafty Meraki friends!  This week we are celebrating all things birthdays (as you should), so I am sharing with you a simple birthday card that has all the shine!

I first started by ink blending a piece of watercolour cardstock using Salvaged Patina and Mustard Seed Distress Inks.  It was then trimmed down to 3.75x5".  I adhered the Birthday Balloons Stencil to it and added a layer of Decofoil Transfer Gel to it and allowed it to fully dry overnight.

While that was drying, I diecut the large birthday from black cardstock using the Birthday Slimline Tag die.  I ink blended a small piece of white cardstock using the Salvaged Patina and then cut out the smaller wishes from the same die set.

Once my background was completely dry (you'll know it is completely dry when the gel turns from a white to a milky white to fully clear and transparent) I placed some Glimmering Gold Fancy Foils from Gina K. Designs and thermoweb.I made sure my Minc machine was on and heated  up in advance (5 to 10 minutes is enough time) and then ran my balloon background and foil through it.  I allowed it cool down for a minute before removing the foil.

I added the birthday diecut and the smaller wishes to the stencilled background and then added a few of the Meraki Sparkle Magic Crystal to add a little more sparkle to it.  It was then all added to a white A2 cardbase.

And that's it!  This is such a fun stencil to use and really absolutely perfect for birthdays!  The Sparkly gold foiled balloons are perfect to help celebrate that special milestone!  Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I have helped to inspire you in some small way.

I wish you all the most wonderful and crafty day and until next time,

Michelle :)
