Hi Everyone! It's Jenny here, and I'm delighted to be joining you today to share a fun slimline card that uses one of my favorite color combos, silver, purple and teal, along with watercolors and some Crafty Meraki goodies!
My card features the You Are Incredible stamp set, which I heat embossed with Altenew Antique Silver Crisp embossing powder onto Canson XL cold press watercolor cardstock. This creates a perfect little well in which to watercolor.
I used Karin Brushmarker Pro markers to watercolor, coloring a little in the edges where the shadows would be, and then pulling it out with a waterbrush, leaving lighter areas for contrast. I used a darker purple for the roses and a pale teal for the leaves. When it dried, I went in again and added a darker shade over the top in the crevices for more contrast.
I fussy cut out the entire piece and then set it aside. For my background, I used the Wanderlust Slimline cover die. I first ink blended a panel of white cardstock using purple inks (Altenew Shades of Purple set), then die cut it. out. I also splattered it with some Altenew Seaglass Metallic Shimmer spray.
To adhere the panel to a slimline cardbase, I first attached the flowers. I added them on the edges of the die cut with foam tape then snipped off the excess and repeated, so that the flowers covered the panel. I then added more foam tape behind the flowers, behind the panel and popped onto a card base.
To finish the card, I heat embossed the 'Believe' and 'in yourself' sentiment from the Believe in Miracles set, onto black cardstock, and die cut out the Believe with the coordinating para-dies. I die cut it twice more and backed the layers together, then adhered onto the slimline card. I popped the sub-sentiment on foam tape and scattered some coordinating sequins to finish.
Isn't this color combo fab? What are your favorite go to combos? Let us know in the comments!
Jenny
