Happy Saturday! Maggie here with more holiday inspiration as we slide into the official start of the Christmas season on Friday! I make a lot of handmade tags for special gifts, and this week's theme of tags fits right into helping me get a good head on the stack that I need to make. I used a combination of the Merry Slimline Tag Para-Dies and EAP Festive Flora wreath papers and coordinating die.
I know a lot of times when we make handmade tags, sometimes the end up in the garbage with all the wrapping paper in the clean up hustle and bustle. These were so simple to make that, even though I'd be sad if they ended up in a landfill, I would't be heartbroken--LOL!
I got two tags for the effort of one out of this project! The wreaths in the Festive Flora pack are HUGE, so I could cut one in half and have it hug the side of the tag. I added a bit of flair to the wreath after I cut it out using the all in one die by adding some red pearls to the berries.
Before I adhered the half wreaths with foam tape, I cut coordinating cardstock in assorted sizes (1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" strips) and slid it underneath the wreath to add some color. Pop that wreath up, and add one of the sentiments that is included in the EAP Festive Flora pack that cuts at the same time as your wreath and the tag itself is done!
The las step to finish up these tags is to add some ribbon to the top. I saved some super thick white grosgrain ribbon from packaging from a blanket and cut two pieces, and attached them with some red grosgrain ribbon in a bow. Two tags done and ready to go for the holiday season!
See you next week for my last guest project with Crafty Meraki! Hope everyone has a chance to spend Thanksgiving with people they care about :)
