Hey friends.....this week at Crafty Meraki we are celebrating all things Press-Plates! Not only can you do letterpress impressions with them as they are intended and hot foil with them, but you can also heat emboss as well with them! They pull triple duty! Let's get started, shall we!
Cut a piece of cardstock to A2 (4.25x5.5) size. Place the Crafty Meraki Stella Wreath Press-Tacular Plate in your BetterPress machine and your A2 size paper. Be sure to place the paper exactly in the middle of the plate, in the designated indicated spot for an A2 size and secure with some tape. Ink up the plate using embossing ink and press. Remove the cardstock and add your gold embossing powder and heat emboss. Place the cardstock back on the plastic plate, but so that the heat embossed design is in the opposite corner of the paper. Repeat the previous and heat emboss.
Add colour to the poinsettias and berries only using Karin brushmakers or your colouring medium of choice. I wanted to only highlight the flowers, so I left the branches uncoloured. Trim down the cardstock evenly on all 4 sides to 4x5.25".
Add some splatters concentrating them over the embossed images in the corners, using a gold metallic paint. Allow this to dry and then using the same gold paint, run the aintbrush and add a loose gold birder along the edges of the cardstock.
If it gets uneven and thicker on some edges of the cardstock, it is not a big deal, as it is a loose border.
Add your sentiment from the Crafty Meraki Gilded Holiday Expressions Press-Tacular Plate and cut out 2 more of the chosen sentiment, but blanks. Adhere the 3 sentiments together and adhere to the cardfront. Add this to a cardbase and then add a few Meraki Sparkle Red gems.
And that's it! I love how Press Plates pull extra duty and can be used in more than 1 or even 2 ways lol....they are very versatile! The Press¨Tacular plates are definitely a staple in my crafty tool box!
Thank you so very much for stopping by today. I hope that I have helped to inspire you in some way and I wish you the most wonderful and crafty day! Until next time, Michelle :)
