Hi crafty friends! It’s time for me, Karin, to share a card with you again on this blog. We're just one day away from Christmas so I’m sharing a Christmas card today.
I’m starting with the jingle jewels stampset. I chose to use five baubles for my card. I’m stamping them on watercolour paper with versamagic clear embossing ink. I’m using a rainbow black embossing powder from a Dutch brand and put it all over the ink. I’m heating/melting the powder from below so the glitter won’t fly away. Now the embossing powder is set it’s time to colour the baubles.
I always forget to use my pigment powders until now, I’m going to use two different coloiurs. One is a nuvo shimmer powder in the colour solar flare and the other is a Lindy’s magical shaker in the colour oom pah pah pink. First I’m spraying the paper down with water, then I’m adding the powders and spray again with water if needed. Sometimes there’ll be puddles of powder on your paper, you can go in with a brush or your fingertip to brake up those powdery puddles. Let dry completely. You can use your heat gun to dry it or just air dry.
When drying I’m going to make the background. There are little stars in the stampset that I’m going to use for the background. I chose a pinkish purple piece of cardstock and stamped the little stars with gold ink from altenew in a random pattern on the paper. I gave the corners a different shape with a paper puncher.
Now the baubles are dry I’m going to cut them out with the coordinating die set. I place them on the background with double sided foam tape in different heights so I can easily overlap them a bit. I’m placing them in a vertical line on the left side of the card.
The sentiment is made with a dymo label writer using gold tape. It’s an easy way to add smaller sentiments to a card when bigger sentiments aren’t suitable.
There’s a lot of shimmer on this card that makes it festive for the holiday season and it’s so easy to create! I hope I could inspire you with this card. See you next Tuesday!
