Mixing Patterned Paper

Mixing Patterned Paper

Hey friends...Michelle back with you  sharing another fun and easy slimline card!  This week the design team has been tasked with making slimline cards.  I don't normally gravitate towards making slimline cards, as I don't always know what to do with all of that space but when a challenge is presented to me, I won't back down lol  Let's get to it, shall we!

For my card today, I decided to focus on the new Rainbow Reverie Paper Pack and mix all the colours lol. The good thing about these paper packs are they are bigger than your average 6x6 paper pad and they are the perfect size for slimline cards.  So to begin, I made my cardbase measuring 3.5 x 8.5".  I picked 3 of the papers from the pack that would be nice layered together and cut the largest piece at 3.25 x 8.25"  The 2 smaller layers were cut .5" smaller than the previous one 2.75 x 7.75" and 2.25 x 7.25".  I cut 3 black mats to layer behind each patterned paper layer.  These were cut to 1/4" bigger than each layer, so as to only have a bit of the black peeking out.

These were all layered together and added to my cardbase.  The large sentiment was cut from another piece of paper from the paper pack using the Wishes Slimline Tag Die and a black layer was also cut and they were layered together, adhering the black slightly off kilter, to give it a shadow.  The smaller happy was cut using the Birthday Slimline Tag Die. The sentiments were all added to the card. To help the smaller happy stand out a bit more, I added some glossy accents to it.

And there you have it!  A fun slimline card, that mixes all the papers...well okay, maybe not all the patterned papers but it incorporates alot of them from this fun paper pack.  Get out your patterned papers and have fun with them....play around and mix them up!  You can come up with some pretty amazing pattern mixes!  Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I have helped to inspire you in some small way.

I wish you all the most wonderful and crafty day and until next time,  Michelle :)
