Hello my crafty friends! Alexandra here to share my last blog post as the guest blogger for March. I have had a lovely time playing with all the lovely Crafty Meraki products and sharing my creations with you. I hope you have enjoyed it too!
This week is all about the Mini Slimline card which is perfect for me since I LOVE them! I’m actually not much of a fan of regular slimline cards but the mini ones are my favourite!
I love that Crafty Meraki has cover dies specifically for mini slimline cards and I used one of them today.
I first did some ink blending with my Distress Inks on to some cardstock cut slightly larger then the mini slimline cover die. After ink blending I splattered on some gold to add a bit of shine.
While the splatter was drying I cut the Merakulous Mini Slimline die from some black cardstock. I was going for a monarch butterfly inspired colour palette with the orange and yellow ink blending paired with the black die cut of the butterfly outlines.
I glued the cover die over my ink blended panel and cut off the excess from around the die. Then I added the panel to the front of my cardbase with some glue.
To finish I added a sentiment from the Gilded Greeting stamp set that I had die cut out and embelished the card with a few Meraki Sparkle Golden Illusion gems.
I also added some details with a white gel pen the the butterfly wings. I really think this brought it all together!
A huge thank you to Crafty Meraki for having me as a guest blogger this month! I hope you have enjoyed the cards I have shared! I would love it if you would come over and follow me on my Instagram @rookiecardmaker so you can keep seeing my cardmaking creations.
