Merry & Bright: New Press-Tacular Plates

Hi there! Crafty Meraki has a new release today, and they're launching their first BetterPress press plates called Press-Tacular Plates. If you don't have a BetterPress system (By the way, Crafty Meraki is giving one away on Instagram!), you can still use the plates for hot foiling, as illustrated by my card.

My card features the new Stella Wreath Press-Tacular Plate, which is a beautiful image of a poinsettia wreath. This image is intricate and beautiful, especially when done in gold foil!

I began by foiling the wreath twice onto a panel of green cardstock. To add depth I blended around the wreaths with Catherine Pooler's Uptown and Juniper Mist inks. I lightly buffed the foiled images with a soft cloth to remove any ink from the surface of the foil and then added splatters of gold to the panel.

For my sentiment I hot foiled the new Gilded Expressions Press-Tacular Plate and diecut the panel with the coordinating die. Because the plate has lots of sentiments and I wanted some color freedom for future projects, I used white cardstock to foil the sentiments rather than the green I used for the background. In order to have my chosen sentiments match my background, I blended them with the inks used previously. To create the frame, I used dies from Pinkfresh Studio.

I adhered my background panel to a cardbase and attached the frame with foam tape. I affixed my sentiment in the center with more foam and finished with a few gold pearls from my stash.
