Happy Friday, Friends! Irene here with a Poinsettia Christmas card. This project features the Blooming Noel Stamp set and the Evergreen Elegance. Let's get started!
I wanted my card to resemble a gift and began by cutting burlap paper to A2-size. I also trimmed red textured card stock to .5 inch x 4.25 and .5 inch by 5.5 inch. I stamped the Blooming Noel layers in black ink and colored the images with Copic Markers. I used YG61, YG17, and G46 to color the leaves. I used the lightest color (YG61) to color the entire leaf area, YG17 as the medium shade, and G46 to add the darker shading.
I used R46 and R43 to color the red of the poinsettia. I first colored in R43 and purposely left white areas in my coloring. I then used R46 to add richer color and shading. Next, I used a white gel pen to add highlights.
I stamped a leaf and the berries images from the Evergreen Elegance stamp and colored it like the poinsettia. I also added gel pen highlights and used glossy accents to add shine. I used "Joy" from the Flora Wreath stamp set for the sentiment.
I added the burlap paper to heavy card stock for added stability. Then I added the red strips and crossed them to be the ribbon of my "gift." I added the leaf directly to the panel using liquid glue. Next, I added the larger red piece with foam tape and tucked the Evergreen Elegance leaf and berries behind it. Next, I added the smaller red image with foam tape for extra dimension. Finally, I added "Joy" to the lower right corner of my card with foam tape.
