Hello Crafty Meraki fans! Enza here with a new guest post featuring some fun projects.
Creating handmade gifts is one of my favorite things to do. I think that taking the time to make something unique and more personal for family and friends adds a special touch that is usually very appreciated. Today I am bringing you a gift idea that was inspired by some of my favorite Crafty Meraki products. How about a pretty box of chocolates and a set of unique, handmade cards that the recipient can give out to their family and friends?
All you need to make the box is: beautiful patterned paper from the Color Cascade Paper Pack, the Capture My Heart 3D Box Dies, coordinating ribbon, and some good chocolates 😊
The box came together very quickly. You get a total of four dies in this set: two for the box and two for the heart/love window. It’s very easy to assemble. My only recommendation would be to use very strong glue or red tape, which is very sticky, to ensure the box will stay put and hold the weight of the candy. I also added an additional piece of cardstock cut to size at the bottom of the box to reinforce the base.
The green polka dot ribbon was used to close the box. After tying it in the front, I added the turquoise bow to bring in more color.
The cards feature the same products used in different combinations.
Let’s start with the first one!
After trimming an A2 panel from the Color Cascade Paper Pack, I adhered it to my prepared card base with double-sided tape. I then cut another panel of the same size from white cardstock and used the Fern Lattice Background A2 die to create texture and interest. This too was glued to the base but not before trimming 1/8 inch from top and bottom, to get more of that beautiful patterned paper color.
Next, the foliage. It’s amazing how quickly my cards came together with the EAP sets. Here, I die cut the gorgeous pieces from the EAP – Evergreen Elegance using the coordinating die. The different colors coordinated perfectly with the background paper: blues and purples, with touches of pink and acid green. Such beautiful images! I arranged them in the top left portion of the card, but not before die cutting the same shapes from vellum to layer behind the colored leaves. Again, lots of texture and dimension, enhanced by the use of foam dots to adhere them to the background.
To finish the card, I used the Moments Hi Para-Dies for the sentiment and pink enamel dots scattered around the cluster of leaves.

As you can see, the same Fern Lattice Background A2 die was used to cut a panel to adhere to the card base. The gorgeous, blended paper comes from the Color Cascade Paper Pack. I trimmed it diagonally before attaching it to the base and added three thin strips of the same paper at the bottom edge for a more finished look.
For the foliage, this time I used the Evergreen Elegance Stamp Set to stamp the images with Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink on the same colored paper. I then cut them with the coordinating dies before arranging them in a bouquet that I tied with twine.
The sentiment comes from the EAP - Festive Flora Wreath. I finished the card with clear enamel dots and crystal gems.
For my third and final card, I used the inlay technique to fill the openings of the Fern Lattice Background A2 die with silver glitter cardstock.
This step took a bit of time, but it was totally worth it! Again, you can see the striped design at the bottom of the card. For the center, I used nested scalloped edge dies from my stash to cut two shapes of different sizes, which I adhered together with foam tape for added dimension. I topped it with a die cut from the EAP – Evergreen Elegance and the Moments Hi Para-Dies. The silver metallic cardstock used for the sentiment coordinates perfectly with the shiny leaves in the background.
