Cupcakes and Vellum Birthday Card

Happy Friday, friends! Irene here, and I'm sharing a fun birthday card today.I used the Be Your Own Kind of Cupcake Stamp Set and dies for this project. I also used an Arabesque ESP made in a previous craft session. You can read the details on how to hot-foil ESPs here.

I stamped two cupcake images and colored them with Copic markers. For the leaves, I blended YG03 and YG17. For the Cherries, I blended R46 for the shaded sides, RV09 as the midtone, and RV25 as the highlight shade. I colored the hearts in RV25. For daisies, I used RV52, RV25, and RV00. I used the shades from lightest to darkest, going from the inner petal out. For the frostings, I used RV52, andRV00 and RV09 for the round sprinkles.

I die-cut the colored cupcakes and two black die-cuts for each cupcake. We will use these for shadows. I added highlights with my favorite size 10 Gelly Roll white gel pen. I stamped "Celebrate your Special Day" in white pigment ink and heat-set it with Recollections white embossing powder and heat gun. I trimmed the sentiment to .5 x 3.5 inches.

I trimmed the hot foiled Arabesque sheet and one vellum sheet to 4x5.25 inches. I added the vellum to the Arabesque sheet by spacing tiny dots of Honey Bee stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue. Next, I glued the black die cuts to the cupcakes to create an outline. I glued the sentiment to the card and arranged the cupcakes to the right side. Finally, I added the completed panel to an A2-sized black card.
