Coordinated Colour Schemes to create Two Quick & Easy Cards featuring Peony Parade

Hello everyone! Bonnie here from Bonniecarollee Makes Cards. Peony Parade is a gorgeous stamp/die set with large, beautiful blooms. These florals are stamped all at once and, as you might have guessed, the coordinating die cuts the images out with one run through the die cutter! I love time savers and, because there were enough blooms for two cards, I decided to coordinate a colour scheme between the two to continue the time saving trend! Check out the VIDEO TUTORIAL for all the details.

The images from Peony Parade were stamped with the Copic friendly, black Memento ink. The flowers were Copic coloured using three colour combinations; Y17, Y13 and 0, YR27, 21 and 0 and R21, R20 and R00. The foliage was coloured with YG99, YG95 and YG93. The images were cut with the coordinating die.

The cards were created with midnight green and peach card stock. Both colours of card stock were cut with the Craft-A-Round cover die. They were adhered to 4 1/4” by 5 1/2” panels; the peach on the green panel and the green on the peach one. An additional panel, one each of the peach and green card stock were trimmed to 4 1/4” by 5 1/2” and cut with a diamond die from a nesting die set.  The next largest die in this set was used to cut the centres of black sheet foam that was slightly larger than A2 size.  The coloured card stock panels were adhered to the foam panels centring the window over the foam one.  The excess foam was trimmed off and the foam backed panels were adhered to the Craft-A-Round panels.  The card fronts were mounted on A2 sized card bases.

A frame was cut from gold card stock by taping together two of the diamond nesting dies.  The frame was adhered to the window's edge. The peonies were arranged on the card and adhered.  The scripty die from Meraki Moments Hugs was used to cut both gold foil card stock and black sheet foam. The small shadow die was used to cut vellum which was sandwiched between the gold and foam letters creating a floating sentiment. The sentiment was adhered to the card fronts. The cards were finished off with gold confetti topped up with Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew.
