Hey Crafty Meraki friends! Michelle here with a slimline card using some dies to make a background. Everyone loves a beautiful leaf die and they make perfect bouquets and wreaths, but today I decided to make my background with them.
I started by cutting the Mini Slimline Pagoni Mania Para-Die with some white cardstock and put that aside. I then cut out 6 or 7 of a mix of both leaves in the Laurel Leaf Die set. I proceeded to add some colour to them using some blue OLO markers, which are alcohol ink markers, similar to a Copic marker. I coloured more than I intended to use, just in case one or two got messed up.
Once I was done with the colouring, I added some white paint splatters using a gouache paint and set them aside to dry. The sentiment was hot foiled in gold using the Gilded Greetings Hot Foil Plate and cut it out using the coordinating die.
I added my diecut background to my cardbase using some liquid adhesive. Next I played around with the arrangement of the 5 of the leaves and once I was happy with them, I added them using some glue and then trimmed off the overhang on the sides of the card. The sentiment was popped up using some foam adhesive. The finishing touch of some sparkle (because you always need some sparkle!) was added using the Meraki Sparkle Emerald Gems.
And there you have it! Dies are so versatile and they can be used in many different ways. I hope that you take a look at your dies in your crafty stash and see all the different possibilities for them!
