Birthday Cray Cray with Candice!!!

Hello crafty friends! It's Candice with you again today and I honestly couldn't wait to dive right into the latest release from Heffy Doodle which you can get all of it here at the Crafty Meraki store!

I used these Heffy Doodle products from the Crafty Meraki store:

• A Little Shellfish stamps & coordinating dies
• You Go Gull stamps & coordinating dies
• Pull Tab Add On stamps
• Slimline Pull Tab dies
• Oxide inks: brushed corduroy, tea dye, antique linen, salty ocean & tumbled glass

I began my card with an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which fits nicely into your standard size envelopes.

For the background, I first die cut the slimline stitched scalloped panel from red cardstock and die cut another stitched panel to fit inside. I then made the sand from a stitched hill die and inked with the brushed corduroy, tea dye & antique linen and added a few grains with brown copic markers.

For the sky and ocean, I first taped off the top and inked the ocean with salty ocean oxides and then switched the tape and created the clouds with a homemade stencil and tumbled glass.

I then used the stitched notch and die cut it in the center of the right edge and then die cut the slit on the ocean and sky line. I made the mistake of forgetting to line this up and you will see when I open it up, it is off center but I made it work! Always a learning curve right?!

Next, I die cut the moving mechanism and stamped the slide me in versafine black ink and put together following the instructions. See, I'm already learning to follow directions!

Now to the fun part, I stamped the crabs, lobster, beach house, starfish, party accessories, buoy, gulls, and stump, colored them with copic markers and used the coordinating dies listed above to cut them out.

I added them to the card with glue and foam tape to give dimension and added the gull with the present to the sliding mechanism, trimming the circle down to fit him. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in versafine black ink for a bold impression.
