A-Roarable Friends with Sindhu

A-Roarable Friends with Sindhu
Hi everyone!
Hope you are all doing great. I have two super fun cards to share with you today. I used 'A-roar-able Friends' stamp set from MFT for both my cards.
My son who recently turned 5, is quite obsessed with dinosaurs and this set is his current favorite. He asked me that I colour the images and of course I obliged. :)
I used only one image on each card and coloured a scene around it. I'm not good at sketching but I really wanted to create cute scenes on both my cards. I was inspired by the incredible cards made by Alberto. He creates stunning scenes around his stamped images. He uses Copics but i wanted to try with watercolours. It was very time consuming but was worth it.
Here are the cards
I had an image of floating island in my mind and wanted to create a scene that would be perfect for the adorable T-rex image.
I started by stamping the image on a piece of Arches Cold pressed 140lb watercolor paper that was cut to 4"×5.25". I took the help of Pinterest for inspiration snd sketched a scene around it.
Trust me, you don't need to he very good at it. What I did was very basic. You could make it good with colouring and giving depth to your images.
I sketched the scene very lighly and used an eraser to make the lines even lighter. I wasn't looking for perfection.
I stamped a sentiment directly on the watercoloured panel and adhered it on a light grey card base.
I did exactly the same on my second card as well.  Started by stamping the image and sketched a scene around it.
I made sure that while colouring I waited for each element to dry before proceeding to paint another. I didn't want one colour to bleed into another.
I stamped the sentiment on a piece of kraft cardstock and adhered on the watercoloured panel. I chose an off white card base to match with the shade of my watercolour paper.
Here is close up of the stamped image
I hope you like the cards.
Take care...
Hugs..
Sindhu.
