A Holiday Thank You

Hi friends....Michelle here with a thank you card, perfect for the holidays and all throughout the winter season.  I don't know about you, but I always keep my poinsettia plants all throughout the winter season and not just for the holidays, so who says you can't use your poinsettia stamps way past the Christmas season too.

To start I heat embossed the 3 images in the Blooming Noel Stamp set using black embossing powder on watercolour paper.  I then grabbed a red and a green Distress Ink re-inker and used those for my watercolours.  I used them by adding a small drop of each colour to a paint palette.  These re-inkers are very saturated and seriously a tiny little bit goes a long way.  I added the colour in 2 layers, trying not to be too perfect and be a bit loose with the watercolouring.  

Once it was completely dry, I added some white paint splatters.  It was all set aside to dry and then was cut out using the co-ordinating dies.

For the background the Mod Stripes Hot Foil Plate was hot foiled in gold on white cardstock cut to 4.25x5.5".   I then masked off an area in  he middle, leaving a 3/4" border all around.  To add some colour I did some ink blending uisng the same colour distress ink as the re-inker.  I trimmed off 1/4" all around the hot foiled ink blended piece.  

The hot foiled piece was adhered to my A2 card base, using liquid adhesive and then the poinsettia was added, layering one image on top of another using foam adhesive for each to add dimension and make it really pop!   The sentiment was cut out from the Gilded Greetings EAP and added using foam adhesive.  The finishing touches was a scattering of Meraki Sparkle Red Crystals.  

And there we go...a thank you card that will take you well into the winter season and using Christmas themed products.
