Hey Crafty Meraki friends! Michelle back with more holiday inspiration for you. For my card today, I decided to do no stamping at all but instead do some hot foiling on these gorgeous ornaments....I love the vintage feel to them! Let's get started, shall we!
To start I used the 'Tis the Season Hot Foil Plate and foiled the ornament 5 times, using a mix of red, green, gold and an iridescent silver. Each of the foils have a gorgeous sparkly finish to them. Once they were foiled, I diecut them using the coordinating die.
For the background, I diecut a panel using the Parisienne Mini Slimline Die and then added some colour to it using a light grey Distress Ink. I didn't want anything too bold of a colour for the background, so as not to distract from the ornaments.
Some gold splatters were added on the left side, under where the ornaments would go. The sentiment was heat embossed in gold from the Gilded Holiday Greetings Stamp Set and cut out with the coordinating dies.
I placed the ornaments temporarily where I'd like them and then used a piece of Press 'N Seal to pick them up, so that the arrangement would remain exactly as I placed them. Next I added the strings that the ornaments would be hanging from.
Adhesive was added to the back of the ornaments and they were placed back exactly on the diecut where I wanted them. I removed the Press N Seal and this is where I realized that as it has a sticky nature it does remove a bit of the foil from the ornaments, as they stick to it a bit. Not enough to make a big difference, but enough for me to notice......oh well. The sentiment was added with foam adhesive and the finishing touches added with the Meraki Sparkle Magic Crystal gems....because you always need some sparkle and these little crystals are gorgeous! I added it all to my cardbase and that's it!
And there we go...a festive and sparkly holiday card that has zero stamping, but has lots of gorgeous foil instead!
