Year of the Tiger by Sweta

Hello crafty friends I am so excited to bring you today’s blog because I get to share with you the newly released stamp Year of the Tiger along with A2 background die as well as the new pearl gems from the #merakihugs release!!

Before beginning to stamp I traced the insides of the Times Square Die with a pencil so that I would know exactly where the stamped images would go in each square. Using copic friendly ink to stamp I stamped out the cute tiger along with the boy and girl. Red and gold/yellows with a bit of grey/black were used to color the stamped images. I used only three squares out of the four to create a photo reel effect that fits on A2 size card.

I lined up the Square die again to cut out the white squares with colored images (remember to erase any pencil marks from the white squares if any). I ran it through the die cutting machine one more time with Charcoal card stock to make the outer edges. For this card I used the A2 background die Dancing Feathers on golden yellow card stock to create the background.

I first adhered the grey square reel using foam tape for dimension over a piece of deep red card stock. Next I applied some liquid glue to the white square that had the stamped images and inserted them into the square spaces.

Finally for the assembly, I adhered the A2 background piece to a card base, adding the square reel layer over the top. And to match I added a few of the newly released Rouge Opal gems and added a stamped sentiment from the set. Although it seems like a few different steps it does not take very long to assemble.

I hope you’ll stop over at Instagram to celebrate the new release with us; we have a special surprise planned!!

See you there...
