VIDEO Cozy Hugs and Die Cut Inlay

Hello crafty friends! Lien here with yet another mini slimline card. You know I'm absolutely obsessed with those by now.

This card is super simple and it uses my favorite techniques to add lots of texture to a background without adding any depth. But I started by making the focal image. This little bear is from the My Favorite Things Spa Day stamp set and I stamped her onto Clairefontaine DCP 250 gsm cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her in with my alcohol markers. If you want to see the full coloring process, head to the video below! Once she was all colored in, I fussycut her out and then put the background together.

Now for this card there were a lot of twist and turns in putting it together and I thought that thought process might be interesting to watch so I left it all in the video. However, for brevity's sake, let's stick to how this eventually came together in this blog post. I started by die cutting a white panel with the Pagoni Mania Mini Slimline die by Crafty Meraki and then die cut the Hugs Slimline Tag die from the center of it. I also die cut the Timeless Frames Mini Slimline die from that same panel too.

I added color to the hugs and the frame by blending on some Soft Lilac ink by Pinkfresh Studio and then glued it all onto a smaller mini slimline cardbase. I sized the cardbase to fit behind the scalloped frame. I glued on the white panel first then laid in the hugs using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue and glued on the frame on the outer edge. I propped up the bear on some foam tape and as a finishing touch I added a tiny bit of bling with the Meraki Sparkle Periwinkle gems.

That's all for this card, however over in the YouTube video you can also see me make a fun matching envelope!
