Tropical spinning card.

This week we all showcasing you our interpretation of an interactive card, and today it is my (Debby) turn.  In this blog I show you how I created this fun and easy tropical spinning card.

As always I started with coloring the stamps with my copic markers and for this card I picked out this fabulous “birds of paradise” set. I colored the flying ara twice, because these birds are going to be the centerpiece. After diecutting all the stamps I gave them some highlights with a white gelpen and put them aside.

For the front I used a blue toned pattern paper, where I diecutted a circle out. (Make sure the bird fits in the middle). The inside is easy, I folded an a4 paper and cut this in the same size as the front. From the left panel I also diecut a circle at the the same place as the front, so they fit perfectly. Inside this card I glued a rectangle a6 (same as the front) . Before I glued this I blend in a distress oxide in the color “speckled egg” and some splashes of “saltwater taffy”.  

Now it time to create the flying birds, and therefore I diecut the ara twice (only the die )extra on blue paper. On the back of one of the blue ara’s I taped some transparent tread very very well, and taped and glued all birds together. I put the bird in the middle of the circle and taped and glued also the treads on the front of our left panel. After some pulling I was happy with the place and cut the tread and taped the front on top.

After I placed the rest of the stamps I finished this card with the “happy birthday” sentiment from the “little green thumbs” stampset.

Before you send this card twist the bird a few times, do the birds will spin around when someone open it.
