Tone on Tone Subtle Stamped Background

Tone on Tone Subtle Stamped Background

Hey Crafty Meraki freinds....I'm sharing with you today a tone on tone stamping technique that adds some subtle interest to your background. Watemark stamping is when you use an embossing ink pad (that you would usually use for heat embossing).  The embossing ink pad will give you a soft and subtle tone on tone look. Let's get started, shall we!

Take a piece of kraft cardstock cut to 4.25x5.5" and stamp the floral image from the Bold and beautiful stamp set using the WOW Embossing embossing ink pad.  I used  a stamp posiitoner tool, as I stamped it twice.  Trim down this cardstock 1 1/4" on all 4 sides.

Stamp and heat emboss the Whimsical Magnolias Stamp Set on watercolour paper using the same embossing ink pad as we did in the first step and heat emboss using Polished Gold Super Fine embossing powder from WOW Embossing. Take a pink and teal blue Zig Clean Color Brush markers and colour in the images.  Add pink at the tips and the teal at the base of the flowers and use a wet paintbrush to blend them together.  Allow them to dry and add more layers, if desired.  Add blue to 2 of the flowers.  Allow all the flowers to completely dry and then cut out using the coordinating die.

Add some gold ink splatters to the background.  Arrange the diecut flowers as you want them.  Take a piece of press n seal wrap to pick up all the diecuts in the arranged order and add some glue to the back of them.  Place the flowers back in place and press down well, so they are well adhered.  Add your chosen sentiment from this stamp set and use some foam tape to add to the background.  Add your background to an ivory A2 cardbase and add a good scattering of Meraki Sparkle Fairy Garden gems.

And that's it! This is such an easy and simple stamping technique that adds a lovely background detail and also a bit of texture, without detracting from your focal point (which in this case, is the flowers).  If you haven't given this a try yet, go for it!  This also adda another use for you embossing ink pads.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I have helped to inspire you in some way.  Have yourself a wonderul and crafty day and until next time, Michelle :)
