Hey Crafty Meraki friends....it's Michelle made.by.michi here with a new project featuring some new products from the latest release. This week the theme is hot foiling and it couldn't be more easy with all of the fabulous hot foil plates in the new release!
I started by using the Marrakech Mosaic Background A2 Die and diecut it from a piece of navy blue cardstock. I added an extra shim to my diecutting sandwich, as this die is a bit more detailed and intricate than others. It may not have been needed, but I did just in case. I made sure to remove all of the small diecut pieces over a garbage, to avoid having little pieces all over my workspace. Definitely helps with cleanup after!
Next I took the coordinating hot foil plate and foiled a piece of white cardstock using a blue mirror foil. I had a slight problem with my hot foil machine (I think I may need a new one), as some parts along the side of it didn't foil completely, but that's okay, bc it is handmade.
Since we are all about hot foil this week, I decided to add another element of foil to it using the Hello Hot Foil Plate and die combo and did that using the same navy as the background. I diecut an extra 2 of the hello and layered them for a bit of dimension. I adhered the diecut piece to the hot foiled background, ensuring to line them up nicely and then added the sentiment using liquid adhesive.
Now just to make sure we have more sparkle because all of that shine from the foil isn't enough lol, I added the smallest size of the Meraki Sparkle Magic Crystal Gems to the small circles in the diecut design, using a liquid adhesive. The smallest ones fit in there perfectly!
And that's it! I love the look of the tone on tone foil with the navy cardstock! And can we talk about these co-ordinating dies and hot foil plates...how fabulous are they! They are just as amazing when used on their own as well...they definitely carry their weight and do double duty.
