Hello crafty friends! It’s me Karin, with a new blog. I’m going to show you how you can make a stunning shaker card with the new mini slimline shaker pockets, flutter fancy neon pink shaker element, zig zag zoom die and the butterfly bliss die.
I’m going to start to cut out the mini slimline none bar die from pink cardstock. I also use the same colour of pink for the background of the card. I’m going to need 5 zig zag zoom strips for my card and I cut them out of white cardstock. I’m using the biggest zig zag die from the set.
I love to make ton-sur-ton cards so I’m going pink all the way for this one. The zigzag strips are getting a ombré effect, I’m using distress oxide inks in the colours tattered rose and worn lipstick to get the effect. I’m using a blending brush to add the ink onto the paper and blend the colours together in the middle. I’m glueing the ink blended zigzag strips onto the bars of the mini slimline none bar die. I’m doing this alternately, starting with the second bar from above.
Now it’s time for the shaker. I’m placing the piece of pink cardstock in the shaker panel and stick three sides of the shaker panel onto the back of the cardstock. To help folding the sticky sides I’m using a bone folder tool. Now I can add shaker bits into the shaker pocket from above. I’m using the flutter fancy neon pink shaker elements for this card. When all the embellishments are in I stick the last side of the shaker panel on the back of the cardstock. Don’t forget to take off the protection layer now! I’m glueing the panel we made first onto the shaker panel with sticky glue.
I want to add some more interest so I’m going to use the butterfly bliss die and using one of the butterflies on this card. I’m cutting it out of light pink paper and spritzing it with a bit of distress spritz in the colour worn lipstick. At last I’m adding the meraki moments ‘hi’ die in the same light pink colour as the butterfly. I’m only using the inner die for this card. Glueing it onto the broad bar from the panel with sticky glue. I only glue the body of the butterfly onto the background so I can fold the wings up to create a 3D effect.
That’s all for todays card. Hope I could inspire you with this shaker card! See you next Tuesday, hopefully.
