Hey Crafty Meraki friends....it's Michelle back with a new project. Today I used the new Songbird Serenade Press-Tacular Plate and co-ordinating stencil. I wanted to keep it somwhat simple, but have the focus on the gorgeous Hummingbird in this plate. Let's get started, shall we!
Press the image on a piece of cardstock using the BetterPress black ink. You can use any ink you'd like, but make sure that it will not smudge when ink blending. I wanted to keep all of the flowers and greenery in shades of grey, so that the hummingbird will really stand out.
I continued adding the layers of colour. I used the same colour family of grey and I didn't use all of the layers of the stencils. As you can see I did get some ink on the background from when I wiped off the exces ink on the stencil., so you want to be careful with that, however that will be covered up in the end.
For the bird I used the base layer stencil only and did some ink ink blending. I started with yellow on all but the beak and then blended in my other colours.
Trim down the cardstock evenly on all 4 sides and add to an A4 cardbase. Add the sentiment and you're good to go.
I love how simple this is, but keeping all of the foliage and flowers in muted tones of grey really allows the hummingbird to pop. Thank you so much for joining me today and I wish you all the most wonderful and creative day! Until next time, Michelle :)
