Happy Tuesday! Today I am featuring the Sweet Friendship stamp from this week's release. It's a beautiful floral wreath stamp with several sentiments and individual flower and leaf stamps. I've never created a monochromatic card or vellum flowers, so it was fun to try something completely new with this versatile set.

Floral wreath. To start, on an A2-sized panel of dark blue cardstock, I stamped a portion of the floral wreath in Versamark ink and heat embossed in white. I also stamped several individual flowers and leaves on another piece of dark blue cardstock and on vellum in Versamark ink and heat embossed in white. After embossing all of my florals, I added highlight details and strokes to mimic the veins of a flower with a white colored pencil and a white gel pen. The colored pencil can be used to soften the harsh lines of the gel pen.

Pro tip: On the vellum flowers, add the detail on the back of the vellum to help protect the delicate paper. The result is subtle and difficult to see in the photos, but in real life you can see the added detail.

After coloring, I carefully fussy cut the individual flowers and leaves. I arranged the pieces on the wreath and adhered the leaves with liquid glue and the flowers with foam tape for dimension. Since the vellum flowers had solid centers, I was able to hide a small piece of foam tape behind the center. After I was happy with my flowers, I splattered silver, metallic watercolor over the entire panel.

Sentiment and final details. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed in silver. Instead of using foam tape, I stacked 4 layers of scrap cardstock behind the sentiment.

Pro Tip: Adding dimension to sentiments by stacking layers of cardstock is a great alternative to using foam tape. Foam tape can sometimes get squished in the mail, so adding dimension with cardstock helps build a more sturdy foundation. It is also more economical and a way to use up cardstock scraps.

I trimmed 1/8 inch from each side of the panel to allow for a border. And for additional shine and texture, I randomly added silver nuvo drops, and adhered several clear sequins. Finally, I added the completed panel to an A2, top-folding card base. I think this design would be perfect for an engagement or wedding card.
