Rainbow roses by Lien Leysen

Rainbow roses by Lien Leysen

Hi crafty friends! I’m Lien from Studio Kato and I’m so happy to share this card on the Crafty Meraki blog today.

For this card I did some rainbow layered stamping, which is super fun to do with this Rose Garden stamp set by Crafty Meraki. When doing layered stamping I always like to do the trick that I learned from Jennifer McGuire where you die cut a bunch of white pieces first and save one of the negative spaces. You can then cover the back of the negative space with purple tape (so you have the tacky side facing up through the openings), put that in your Misti, and place the pieces in the openings so you can line up all the layers with the die cut and not have to line up the die every time.

I used Pinkfresh Studio ink cubes to stamp these images out, stamping one colour at a time for the rainbow roses. So covering one section with orange, softening the edges by just tapping my finger onto it (you could use a cloth or a blending brush or a finger dauber but I felt I had the most control like this), stamping it, then putting on the pink and doing it all over again for each color and each layer.

I made a simple background with the Pinkfresh Studio Layered Sunburst stencils using only layer 3 on an A2 sized piece of cardstock and blending on Distress Oxide Pumice Stone ink. I then used the blanket stitched oval dies by Pinkfresh Studio to cut a window from that panel. I arranged all my pieces on the card and picked them up with press ’n seal, I used a sentiment from the English Garden stamp set by Pinkfresh Studio and stamped that in Versafine Onyx Black directly onto my cardbase and clear embossed it. I then put foam squares on the back of all the pieces and then adhered everything together.

That’s it for this card! Love how this one turned out.
