Press-Tacular Floral New Year's Card

Good morning!  It's Lindsey here today.  This month has flown by shockingly fast, and today I'm sharing my final guest design post.  I love that the Gilded Holiday Expressions Press-Tacular Plate has sentiments that carry you all the way through the new year, so I decided to make a New Year's card.

You may not automatically think of flowers when you think of New Year's cards, but any happy new year of mine will most definitely be filled with flowers, so I chose that for my theme. 

Using Champagne Glimmer Foil, I hot foiled the Gilded Holiday Expressions Press-Tacular Plate and die cut it with the coordinating dies.   

Next I pulled out the beautiful Peony Artisan Flora Dies, and die cut the flower dies 3 times and the leaf dies 4 times from white cardstock.  I blended just two shades of green ink on the leaves, and followed the assembly guide included in the die packaging to put the pieces together.

The peony flowers come with lots of pieces, but don't be intimidated.  The packaging guide makes assembly easy.  To simplify the process even more, before I blended the pinks on the flower pieces, I labeled the negative cut piece with numbers 1-6, 1 being the lightest shade and 6 being the darkest. 

Then I placed all the die cut pieces back into the negative cut piece.  This way I could look at the numbers and quickly color all the pieces in the lightest shade, then move on to the next darker shade, and then the next, and so on. 

Once I had all of my flowers, buds, and leaves assembled, I popped up the sentiment with dimensional foam on my cream colored A2 card base, and started arranging the flowers and leaves around it.

After everything was adhered to the card, I used scissors to trim off any over-hanging pieces. 

The final step was to sprinkle gold pearls in various sizes throughout the card. 

I'm a firm believer that flowers are good any time of year, and I hope you've enjoyed seeing this card come together.  The Peony Artisan Flora Dies are pretty magical in my opinion and really do create the most beautiful flowers.
