Owl be there for you by Lien Leysen

Owl be there for you by Lien Leysen

Hi crafty friends! Lien here back with a no-line coloring card this time. I just love these owls by Crafty Meraki, they’re a hoot!

For this card I started by die cutting the Slimline Tag Thanks die from watercolor cardstock. I also used a stitched rectangle die to cut an A2 sized panel from some soft pink paper as well. On that rectangle I’m stamping the Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot background stamp by My Favorite Things in white pigment ink.

I then put that aside and got to working on my tag panel. I first trimmed it down to be the length of an A2 sized card and then stamped the flying owl from the Owl Yours stamp set by Crafty Meraki onto it using my Misti and InkOn3 Fade Out Ink. I stamped it 3 times to build up the “color” of the ink so it would be slightly easier to see. I colored in the owl with Karin Brushmarkers, using a paint brush and water to blend it out.

I quickly cut a mask from the owl (stamped it on a full stick post-it note and cut it out with scissors) then used a cloud stencil by My Favorite Things and Concord & 9th Aqua Sky ink to blend the sky. I also added extra ink to the scalloped edge to give it a more defined look. I embossed the sentiment in white on dark navy cardstock and then put everything together. I propped the scalloped panel up on 4 more layers of cardstock and added a couple of clear heart embellishments here and there as a finishing touch.

That's it for this card, hope you like it! Do let me know if you have any questions.
