Floral Filigree

No Waste Foiling

No Waste Foiling

Hey Crafty Meraki friends.....it's Michelle back with you today.  This week the design team is focusing on all the types and different ways to add some gorgeous foil to your projects.I decided to use one of the beautiful new Floral Filigree ESP (Effortless Shimmer Paper)  for my project today.  Let's get started, shall we!

To start I picked one of the beautiful designs from the paper pack and ran it through my Minc Foiling machine with a piece of Enchanted Rose foil from Decocraft, which is a beautiful pink iridescent foil.  I made sure my Minc was preheated and nice and hot before I foiled my piece.  Once it came out, I waited 30 seconds or until it was cool to the touch before I peeled the foil off.

Next I did some ink blending using Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, around the outside of the foiled piece, getting lighter as I got to the middle.  You want to make sure that you don't go too heavy handed with the blending brush, as I think I removed some of the foiling.  Once done I trimmed down this piece 1/4" on all 4 sides.

As I didn't want to waste any of this gorgeous foil with the delicate floral pattern, I grabbed a piece of paper that was covered in black toner ink, (as that is what this type of foiling sticks to) and added the negative (or leftover foil) from the floral background and ran them through my Minc machine.  Once they came out I diecut 3 bows from it, using the Take A Bow die set, making sure the orientation was the same way as the background.

I added the ink blended and foiled background to my cardbase and then adhered the 3 bows using some glue down the middle.  The sentiment was stamped in black ink from the Bold & Beautiful Stamp Set.  To finish it, a scattering of a few Meraki Sparkle Magic Crystal gems were added.

And there you have it...an easy card using one of the new ESP's and also no waste foiling, using both the positive and negative foiled pieces...because really, why would you want to waste all of that gorgeous foil?!?!  Next time you foil, hold onto your foil that would normally get thrown out and if you can, foil that too!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I have helped to inspire you in some small way.I wish you all the most wonderful and crafty day and until next time,  Michelle :)
