Merry Christmas in July-Stretch your supplies!

Merry Christmas in July-Stretch your supplies!

Happy Friday, friends! Irene back today for Christmas in July! Let's get started!

I first prepared cardstock for the background. I first trimmed Park Lane (Joann Fabrics brand) Christmas Plaid scrapbook paper using a stitched die measuring 4 x 5.25 inches and Kraft Cardstock to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I added the plaid print to dark grey cardstock and trimmed it to leave a thin border. I didn't measure it; I eye-balled it.

Next, using heavy-weight white cardstock, I die-cut white flowers from the Artisan Flora Wreath Builder. The brand I am using is Recollections (Michaels) 100lb cardstock. I also die-cut black and green leaves with the Laurel Leaf Meraki Para-Dies. I made two in each color.

I used red glitter washi tape and placed it over the plaid print to look like a ribbon on a Christmas gift. If you don't have washi tape, you can use half-inch cardstock strips. Next, I trimmed the top three leaves of one black Laurel Leaf and the bottom two leaves of the second. I glued a leaf onto the red glitter washi using my Honey Bee Stamps- Bee Creative Precision Glue. I positioned the larger cut at the bottom and the smaller one at the top. Next, I assembled the flowers and folded the petals up for dimension. I colored the flower centers with Copic marker R27, added them to each flower, and added Meraki Sparkle Red.

I arranged the flowers over the black leaves and washi tape with liquid glue. Then, I trimmed individual leaves from one green Laurel leaf die-cut. I tucked four green leaves behind the flowers and black leaves.

Lastly, I die-cut Merry Christmas from the Gilded Holiday Greetings EAP and added it to the card using Altenew foam tape.

I hope you are enjoying Christmas in July week! Thanks for reading along, have a great weekend!
