Hello everyone, it's Juhi with my second post for the Craft Meraki blog.
For today's post I'm sharing 2 very different cards I made using the Bloom & Grow stampset from Altenew. The stampset features a gorgeous large bloom with some beautiful sentiments.
I have done no line watercoloring on the first one. I began by stamping the large bloom on a 4"x5.25" piece of watercolor cardstock with a very light colored then. I then colored the image with the Puffy Heart pink color from the Altenew 12 pan watercolor set. I added multiple layers of color taking care the one layer had dried before adding another layer.
Once I was done with coloring the flower, I added a black watercolor wash around the flower. This step was definitely out of my comfort zone as I really liked the colored bloom and was not sure if it would look good with the dark background. Thankfully I am happy at how it turned out.
I added white paint splatters and stamped the sentiment with black ink to finish the card.
For my second card, I first stamped and heat embossed the blooms with white embossing powder. I then loosely colored the blooms and the rest of the watercolor panel in shades of blue and purple from the Altenew 12 pan set.
I finished the card by stamping and fussy cutting the sentiment in white on black cardstock.
I hope you enjoyed my cards, here's the list of supplies I used:

I’m so happy you chose to color the black background. It really elevated the card! Gorgeous coloring in both.
