Hey Crafty Meraki friends.....it's Michelle back sharing a new project with you. I wanted to make a fun background pattern for my card today. My initial idea was something like an argyle pattern, so I decided to use the ZigZag Zoom Die Set to help me achieve this. Let's get started, shall we and I'll show you how I created this!
Cut several of the smallest zigzag die from black cardstock. Using light pink cardstock, cut several the largest of the 3 dies.
Cut a piece of white copy paper, so that it isn't too thick, to 4x5.25". Start adhering the large zigzag diecuts to the paper, ensuring that the points are touching. In between each strip, cut strips of black cardtsock and a darker pink. Alternate each colour, layering them in the between spaces of the zigzags. Trim off any excess hanging over the edge of the cardtsock.
Using the small thin strips of black cardstock, adhere them in the middle of the large light pink zigzags, creating a smaller zigzag pattern on the light pink. Trim the excess off the edge of the cardstock.
Using the Hey Layered Die, cut the layers from black, white and the same dark pink cardstock and adhere together. Add the zigzag background to an A2 cardstock and then adhere the diecut Hey to it. Stamp the smaller sub-sentiment on white cardstock using the Just A Note Stamp Set and adhere using foam squares.
I know this isn't technically an argyle pattern but I reallyl like the pattern that I achieved. The possibilities are really endless, so play around with your shape diecuts and see what you can create. Have fun and create something today!
