Hello crafty friends!
Karthikha here, and I have a fun interactive card to share with you all today - a Magic Slider card.
I'm sure many of you might know about the magic slider card, but I have something different! Instead of using stamps, I've used a die! Yes! It is possible, and fun to align too :)
Do you see a simple card in black and gold?
Pull the notch in the middle of the top border. The magic slowly reveals.
Here is the full reveal!! Isn't it fun?
Check out the video to see the magic in action, and scroll down to know how I made it! :)
I started with the template I had created for a magic slider long back. It is a 4x6 card, with the base created from one sheet of 12x12 cardstock. I've used black cardstock for the base, with a frame design in gold. The stitched die used for the frame is from Pinkfresh Studio Slimline Diagonal Stitched dies. I also added 4 triangle corners to hide the brads used on the top of the card. The brads are used as stoppers for the slider mechanism. The outer panel is a simple and elegant design using the Rachel floral die cut in gold and adhered to acetate.
For the inner surprise panel, I've aligned the gold flower die-cut with a matching gold flower die-cut on the inside. I did some very light ink blending using distress oxides in rainbow colors for the background, using a clouds stencil. I've used the die-cut inlay technique for the flower and the petals. This technique is important here so that the panel is smooth and doesn't hinder the sliding mechanism. The petals are colored using alcohol ink markers. I also wanted to add some small flowers to the background and used an old tiny stamp from my stash, but I messed up the inking on one of the flowers. Instead of redoing the panel, I doodled a gold outline for each of the small flowers, and fixed them up :) To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment using black ink. The stamp is from Altenew - Sunflower Daisy stamp set.
