Hi everyone! Samantha here today to share a bold Valentine's Day card idea!
Sometimes great products make you do crazy things - like me making a card with no white and no stamping! But in the end I had a card that was both super easy to create and eye catching.
I love how delicate the Eccentric Hearts background die is! I started by cutting it from red cardstock (I would highly recommend using a Gemini Jr with the metal cutting plate if you have it). I only adhered it around the edges of the hot pink card front. It gives a little extra dimension to an otherwise simple background. If you have greater patience than me (or some spray adhesive handy) you could also try layering a few background die cuts together for even more dimension.
Oh and don't throw away all those little red hearts from the centers! They are the perfect finishing touch to keep on hand for future cards (see if you can spot them in some of the cards I made during last months release).
I then die cut the "love" portion of the Love Slimline Tag die set in the deepest black cardstock I had (doesn't it almost look like velvet?). I attached the love die with dimensional foam adhesive. The letters are nice and chunky so that is much less fussy than most word die cuts.
I finished the card off with a little sparkle by die cutting the "& hugs" (also from the Love Slimline Tag die set) from silver glitter cardstock. This was certainly the most time consuming part of the card because I fiddled around with a few different placements but in the end, it felt right "surrounded" by love.
But even with the fiddling this was a quick card to create and would be a great Valentine for someone special!
Thanks for stopping by!
Samantha
