Interactive Butterfly Card

Interactive Butterfly Card

Happy Friday, Friends! Irene here with a fluttering butterfly card. I used the Meraki Emperor Wings Die set for this project. Let's get started!

I first selected a linen-style card stock in a jewel-toned teal and sized it to A2. Next, I trimmed white cardstock to 2x5.5 inches and adhered it to the left side of the teal A2-sized base. I stamped "Miss You" from the Love Forever stamp in clear embossing ink and gold embossing powder.

Next, I die-cut the butterfly in medium teal for the butterfly base, gold foil cardstock for the middle die cut, and a light teal shimmer for the top layer cut. I cut each layer twice to have two butterflies on the card. I adhered them only in the center and added the butterfly body made in gold foil cardstock.

I used clear acetate to add the butterfly to the panel. I cut two strips 1/8th of an inch wide by three inches tall. I scored the acetate at the one-quarter-inch mark, three-quarter-inch mark, one-inch mark, two-inch mark, two-and-a-quarter, and two and three-quarter-inch mark.  (see the picture above for reference) I used double-sided solid adhesive to add the longer part of the acetate to the butterfly and at the outer scores to the panel. This will give the butterflies a slight pop-up look and flutter when the recipient opens the card. If you make the strip longer than three inches, you can add extra flutter by adding folds in the acetate. Lastly, I added the butterflies to the panel at an angle. All done!

I hope this inspires you! Have a fantastic weekend!
