Hey friends....Michelle back with you today, sharing an easy stamping technique that will give you the look of a 3D image but without anything complicated to achieve that 3D effect. TBH...I came upon this technique by accident, when I was playing around. Let's get to it, shall we!
On a piece of kraft cardstock, stamp the rose image from the Rose Rhapsody Stamp Set, which is part of the beautiful new #MerakiBlooms release, on the bottom left corner of your cardstock using an alcohol marker safe black ink, such as Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. You want to be sure to use a stamp positioner such as the Misti for this technique, as we will be double stamping the image. Move the cardstock ever so slightly to the left and down. Be sure not to move it much at all, as you don't want too much space in between stamped images. I stamped the floral image a second time using WOW! Embossing Ink Pad and then heat embossed it using WOW! Opaque Vanilla White embossing powder, so soften it a little, instead of a stark white.
Next I used 3 different shades of blue OLO alcohol markers and added some easy and quick colour to my roses. I love how the kraft gives it a soft look, compared a white cardstock. Be careful when using alcohol markers with an image that is heat embossed, as the heat embossing can damage the nibs of the markers. I did get some of the darker colours on the heat embossed but I went over it with the lighter colour and it helped to lighten it somewhat. I did this very lightly on the embossing, so as not to chance it ruining my markers.
I added some white paint splatters and trimmed it down on all 4 sides to give it a border on the finished cardbase. The sentiment was heat foiled in black matte using the Handmade Love Hot Foil Plate and coordinating die. This was all then added the kraft cardbase using foam tape and to finish it off we can't have a Crafty Meraki card without some of the gorgeous Meraki Sparkle Clear.
And there you have it...an easy 3D embossed card, without the need for 3D glasses lol. This uses only your regular stamping supplies. I really hope that you give this technique a try...it is so easy and gives such a cool effect! Play around and see what you can come up with!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I have helped to inspire you in some small way.I wish you all the most wonderful and crafty day and until next time, Michelle :)
