Hello, it's Kari with a new card and video to share! Today I'm showing you a fun birthday card and how to create your own colors of patterned paper.

I started with the Cupid's Canvas Effortless Shimmer Paper, which is perfect for foiling! But did you know, you can also make your own patterned paper colors by using inks over the patterns?
Today I used Distress Oxides, they blend so beautifully! I was inspired by citrus colors so I used Grapefruit, orange, and lemon colors to create my background.
I chose the rainbow pattern from Cupid's Canvas Effortless Shimmer Paper, I think it looks great in a variety of colors!
Next, I colored up the cupcake with the orange slice on top from the Be Your Own Cupcake stamp set. This set has such beautiful images and sentiments! I used the background colors as my inspiration for coloring the image.
The Hi Hot Foil Plate and Die set is an absolute favorite of mine...and in these pictures you may not be able to tell that I foiled it with a gorgeous copper foil! I love this with the subsentiment stamped from the cupcake stamp set.
