Scrapbooking with Crafty Meraki

Hello, Crafty Meraki friends! It's Jen today with my final project as an April guest designer. It has been fun using these amazing products when creating scrapbook layouts.

This week's project uses the following supplies:

Crafty Meraki Peony Artisan Flora Para-Dies

Let's take a look at the 8.5 x 11 layout featuring my Aunt Louise.

Recently, my mom gave me some older family photos, and I was so happy when I discovered this picture of my Aunt Louise who was a teacher like me. When planning the layout, I knew I wanted it to have a soft vintage feel with minimal embellishments. I decided to use a page from an old dictionary with a torn edge and back it with black cardstock.

The flowers were next, and I used the Crafty Meraki Peony Artisan Flora Para-Dies with white cardstock to create two sets of blooms. I then cut a third set of blooms and leaves from mixed media that had been sprayed with Distress Sprays and Stains using the following colors:

  • Kitsch Flamingo
  • Cocktail Party
  • Yuletide
  • Rustic Wilderness

After the blooms and leaves were assembled, I used Nuvo Gold Guilding Flakes and adhesive to add gold accents to each.

Next, I adhered the photo to the page and began layering flowers and leaves around the bottom and right borders.

Once the florals were in place, I added Vicki Boutin puffy sentiments from my stash to create the title. To finish the layout, I added enamel dots, a bit of journaling, and black paint splatters.

The layout turned out just as I had imagined and embodies who Aunt Louise was in life.

Thank you so much for following along with me during the past month. I hope I've inspired you to use your Crafty Meraki supplies on scrapbook layouts AND cards.
