Hi friends....today we are going clean and simple....very simple, because handmade cards don't need to be complicated. Also as we are getting closer and closer to Christmas, these cards are quick and very easily mass produced, if you haven't finished your holiday cards yet. Let's get started!
To add some subtle texture to the background, take a piece of watercolour paper and add it to your hot foil platform with the Mod Stripes Shimmer Plate and run it through your die cutting machine, as if you were to hot foil the paper, however you do not need to heat up the machine nor add a piece of foil.
Using watercolour paper gives the embossed impression that you want for the texture....it works better than just regular cardstock, as it is a thicker paper. This gives you another use for your hot foil plates.
Take the Tis the Season Meraki Shimmer Plate and hot foil using a gold foil on white cardstock and cut out using the coordinating die. This plate makes it really easy to mass produce, as you get 9 different images and are able to cut them out at once.
Next hot foil using the same gold foil as the previous step using the Gilded Holiday Expressions Press Plate and cut out using the coordinating die. This plate is perfect for mass producing as well, as in the previous step, you can hot foil or get that letterpress effect for many different sentiments all at once and cut them out on one go as well.
To add a 3rd element of gold to our cards, add a piece of gold metallic cardstock to the embossed background allowing a small thinborder to peek out. The embossed backgrounds are cut to 3.75x5" and the gold backgrounds are 1/8" bigger.
Add your gold matted background to an ivory cardbase and then add your foiled and diecut elements ot the embossed cardfront, using small foam squares or cut foam tape to size.
For a bit of contrast and as I love mixing metallics, add some Matte Silver Opal gems to the cardfront as well.
And that's it.....simple and easy hot foiled that are easily mass produced and take no time at all. Thank you so much for joining me on the blog today. I hope that I have helped to inspire you in some way and I wish you all the most wonderful day. Until next time, Michelle :)
