Easy Mixed Media

Hey crafty friends....it's Michelle back with you today with a colourful mixed media card. I used the Crofton Leaf Meraki Para-Dies for this and paired it with lots of dark and moody colour. Let's get started, shall we!

To create my background I took the Vinny's View Flat Shaker 5 pack from Lindy's Gang and lightly sprinkled on each of the colours on a piece of watercolour paper. Next I spritzed it with water, but made sure not to add too much water, as I wanted to keep some of the white of the paper and I didn't want the colours to get too muddy. This was set aside to dry naturally.

Next I cut out both sizes in the Crofton Leaf Para-dies using some simple black cardstock and then added some white paint splatters. The sentiment was hot foiled in gold on black cardstock using the Gilded Greetings Hot Foil Plate and cut out using the coordinating dies.

The background, once dry, was cut down to 4x5.25" and was added to the A2 cardbase using some foam tape. The larger leaf was added to the background using liquid adhesive and the smaller leaf was added at an angle, the stem adhered using some liquid adhesive and the larger part of it was popped up using foam tape, to add some dimension to it. The sentiment was added using foam squares and finally some sparkle was added with a small scattering of Meraki Sparkle Midnight Shimmer Illusion gems.

And there you have it! A simple mixed media card, that truly anyone can create. All you need is some colour for the background and some dies to layer on top....easy peasy! Just be sure not to add too much water when activating your pigment powders or they will all become one colour lol.
