Hi y’all, it is Tuesday which means my turn (Debby) again to show you something here on the blog. The theme this week is:”let’s color without alcoholmarkers”. Let me be honest, I absolutely love my alcoholmarkers, and there are not many card on my IG feed where I doesn’t used them. So it should not surprise you if I tell you this theme was a bit difficult for me when I saw it in the our Team calendar. But there is a big positive but, this was the perfect opportunity to finally purchased some aqua markers, to widen up my horizon. Well that being said let’s get back to the card.
I picked out the “love like no other” stampset, a super pretty tulip set which I used already a few times. I stamped both tulips on smooth aquarelpaper with “Versafine onyx black” and decided to heat embossed them for a crispier result.
With my newest aquarel brushmarker, I have the Karin brushmarkers (I own a box with 60 colors)I colored the tulips. For that I used only two colors, namely “Pale Violet” for the petals and “olive green” for the leaves.
First I added the shadow with the brushmarker and with a thin and wet pencil and a kitchenpaper I faded it out to create some definitions. After I letting it dried completely I diecut the flowers with the corresponding die. For the background I used a rectangle shape and distress oxide. First I masked a slightly smaller rectangle with masking tape and start blending “shaded lilac” into the paper. Because I thought this shade was too light I blended “Wilted violet” over it which was a better fit.
I taped the tulips in the middle and the sentiment “just a note” on top of both. This sentiment is from the Effortless Artisy Paper Collection and called “Gilded greetings”. This is a paperpad with everyday sentiments, super easy to use especially in combination with the dies.
I finished this card with a light green scalloped background and a few clear drops. I had so much joy creating this card and I absolutely love the result of this card. Hope you like it too.
