A Framed Peony with the Fancy Frames Die

Hi Crafty Meraki friends...it's Michelle back with a project featuring the new Crafty Meraki Fancy Frames Die.  Now I have a secret to share with you.....I don't think I've ever made a 3D papercrafting item, so this was completely new and uncharterd territory for me, but It was so fun!  This die is perfect for actually making framed shadow boxes and gifts for family and friends.  So many possibilities with this new die...let's get started shall we!

Using the smaller dies to make a square, diecut 4 from a heavier weight cardstock.  This will give the frame some weight to it.  Fold and score on each embossed line using a bone folder and use liquid adheisve to close each diecut frame piece.

To put the frame together, put the square end of each frame piece into the angled end of the the piece next to it, this will create the joint to connect the sides and will create the frame.  Add some glue to the inside of the angled to adhere them together.  

Cut out 4 of the larger fancy corner scrolls from light blue cardstock.  Adhere one to each corner, flush up against the corner of the frame.  These corner scrolls will help to hide the joints from the 2 pieces put together.  Choose a sheet of paper from the Color Cascade Pattern Paper Pack.  I picked one that has beautiful soft shades of pinks, blue and purples.  Adhere this to the back of the frame, with the side you want showing glued to the frame. 

Die cut the peony from 4 different shades of blue and the leaves from shades of green and adhere the layers together.  Place the fflower in the bottom right corner of the frame. 

Adhere a sentiment of your choosing above the flower.  I used a gold hot foiled sentiment I had ready made from the Gilded Greetings Hot Foil Plate.  Place a shadow layer of black behind it, diecut fromt he same die.  Add a few bits of sparkle and that's it.
